Course: Asthma 401 [Item]
ID: A401
Options: View Course Schedule, Enroll in Live Course

When you register

After you register for Asthma 401, you receive a course package which contains 3 textbooks, 2 workbooks, reprints of medical articles, and a 3-ring binder for your handouts and notes.

Before each class

Before each class, you receive e-mails containing assignments, lists of reading materials, and the complete slide presentation that will be used in the next teleclass. The slides allows you to:

  • review these materials at your leisure before attending the teleclass
  • note any questions you may have
  • reduce the amount of note taking you do during the teleclass
  • concentrate on listening
  • participate in the discussions

Class format

Each teleclass begins with a brief review of material presented in earlier classes, followed by the topic for that evening’s class. Using the slide presentation, together with lectures, case studies and personal interaction, your instructor guides you through the material.

Each class includes a question period and “open discussion” session where you are encouraged to present your ideas and experiences, seek clarification, and talk to your colleagues from around the country.

Information exchange is encouraged.

How a teleclass works

Teleclasses are classes you take by phone. You phone a central teleclass number to be connected to your class instructors and to the other participants. You listen, ask questions, and take part in the discussions.

Apart from registration fees, your only additional costs are the long-distance charges which your phone company will bill you (typically, about $3 an hour).

Complete information on the teleclass, together with helpful teleclass etiquette tips, is included in your registration package.
