What participants have said about Asthma 401:

"My goal was the exam but in taking this course I now see that I am getting more. Everything that is said is valuable to me. The materials are such that I have all the information at my fingertips."

"I am thrilled to have taken this course. I picked up a lot of new ideas and learned so much that I can use in my teaching."

"I really enjoyed the course. It is wonderful. I like the format and find it pertinent and realistic. The materials are very good."

"I had no expectations but I find the course fantastic. I like the intricate details on pathophysiology. I'm very impressed. Everything is addressed."

"I learned a lot. I really liked the unit on medications and found it helpful with great explanations. I like being able to take the course from (my) home and find the materials good and helpful. Things are starting to click now."

"For the last two years I have taken a number of courses from different organizations. All the courses stress the Guidelines and go over the same material. This is the only course that handles it in a sensible, down-to-earth way. It deals with the education aspect. It not only teaches what I need to know to pass the exam but shows 'how' to teach. The case studies and scenarios are wonderful. The stress is on application. This is the first time I've got a sense of what I should be doing as an educator."

"I like the materials and find them of considerable help. The information given is very useful. The 'Case Studies' help a lot and make you think. Since reading the book on Delivery Devices, I've had to make changes to some of the things I do in clinic. I now keep the book on my desk as a handy reference. I really enjoyed the course."

"I learned a great deal and really enjoyed it. The course reinforces what I've been doing. I like the continual emphasis on education and the stress on keeping it simple. I like the fact that all through the course (the instructor) provides tips about teaching. The course is invaluable and worthwhile."

"I found the course exciting. I learned something from every class that I could use in our clinic immediately. I couldn't wait for the next class and did not want to miss any. I am thrilled to have taken this course."

"The class was extremely valuable for preparation – I would highly recommend it to potential candidates. Thanks for all your great instruction."

"I did enjoy the class and am quite impressed with the quality of information, format, and speakers."

"Asthma 401 was a class worth taking. What a wealth of information!"

"I have really enjoyed these classes and feel that I am able to link more theory to my practice."

"I find this class very helpful with the printed info and outline. This is my first teleclass so I find it difficult at times to time my comments and know when to "jump in" and talk. I guess it's difficult without seeing the person because often times certain nuances or voice tone inflections can misconstrue what you are saying. But overall it's great and I wish I had known about this course earlier."

"The 'Case Studies' book makes me think.."

"Thank you for the good review and helping with the classifications. I don't think I could have done it without your help and the class. Thanks again. "

"I'm really enjoying the class. The materials are very good and easy to follow. It is more in depth than I thought it would be. I've used everything I've learned. It's very very useful. I particularly like the information on the recent studies. Even though I've worked with asthma doctors for a number of years, I've learned a lot. It's very very helpful. It met my expectations, and then some!"

"A wonderful class. It's very good and more than meets my expectations. It is very helpful. I have used the techniques with my patients and find the course both useful and informative. The materials are presented so that they are easy to understand."

"I have learned a lot that I've been able to use. Every class session has taught me something I can use. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. It is a wonderful course. Great."

"I heard that this was a wonderful course from two previous participants. I find the materials excellent and have enjoyed reading them. I really enjoyed the course. I feel informed. Having it spread out gave me an opportunity to study each section individually. Throughly enjoyed it."

"The information is good, especially in the handouts. That is really good. I enjoyed the class. Really excellent. I thought the teleclass would be hard but it has been a good experience."

"I enjoyed the course and learned a lot. I particularly enjoyed taking it this way (teleclass) where there is time to absorb. It made it manageable. The materials are very helpful. The home work contributes to understanding as does reading beforehand. The case studies help me think it through and put it together, to think about the situation and what I need to do. It's helpful. The handouts are so detailed that I don't need to write a whole lot of notes. The information is outlined very nicely and is easy to follow. Great materials and lots of resources."

"This is the first time I've done a teleclass and it is really interactive and interesting. The materials are really to the point and very good. The slides make it easy to follow where you are leading. The course structure is very helpful. I like the fact that there are two of you doing the presentation. It gives us different perspectives and having two (instructors) makes it more interesting."

"I really liked this course. I learned a lot. I'm happy I was part of this course. You guys are very approachable people. Doing an excellent job. I really liked it. It was so interactive."

"I did very much enjoy the teleclass. The instructor was very knowledgeable and well-read. The information presented was current and informative. It was obvious that the instructor took great care in researching the latest information on asthma. The topics of the class were great. I think the instructor covered key areas of asthma care, including treatment (and medication), asthma in different age groups, spirometry, etc. It was a very well rounded class.

"It was apparent to me that most students in the class were health care providers. I am a researcher. In addition to risk factor and epid studies, I also am involved with some behavior modification interventions. It was helpful to know what goes on during a clinic encounter, what physicians should be telling patients, and patient perceptions of asthma management. I would like for other employees on my staff to take this class, however, the time at which it is offered is a barrier. The class starts at 8pm and ends at 10pm (Eastern Time). It is difficult for me to insist that an employee participate in an evening class. I realize that your students come from all parts of the US, and that time is an issue, but it would be great if you would add a class during the day."
