Asthma 401 Course on CD

Asthma 401 on CD is now available.

Our acclaimed asthma course is now available on CD in a revised and enhanced edition. Asthma 401 on CD is NAECB matrix-compliant, and intended for asthma educators who cannot attend our live Asthma 401 telecourse.

Asthma 401 on CD

If you are studying for the Asthma Educator-Certification (AE-C) examination, but are unable to attend our live Asthma 401 telecourse, Asthma 401 on CD is the ideal alternative.

Asthma 401 on CD is our self-paced asthma instruction course on audio CD. It follows the same format as our very successful live Asthma 401 course. Eight lectures cover all the topics specified by the NAECB study/knowledge matrix for asthma educators. Lectures are delivered in an unhurried, informal style that is relaxing yet covers all essential material in an easy-to-follow format. You listen to each lecture, or even to part of a lecture, at your own convenience – at home, at work, or even in your car. You learn at your own pace, when you want to, for as long as you want to.

The Asthma 401 on CD package comes complete with all the material you need. Internet access is optional. The package contains:

  • 8 audio CDs with 8 lectures

Course content

Asthma 401 on CD is presented through eight lectures, each about one hour in length. The lectures cover the following topics:

  • Pathophysiology and Guidelines
  • Diagnosis and Monitoring
  • Assessment and Differential Diagnoses
  • Triggers and Exposure Reduction
  • Pharmacotherapy
  • Delivery Devices and Action Plans
  • Conditions and co-morbidities of asthma
  • Teaching the patient with asthma

Each lecture is divided into a number of tracks, one per topic. You can listen to the entire lecture on one sitting, or you can selectively listen to one or more topics. You can replay a topic as often as you need to. Detailed track listings for each CD make it easy to locate the topics or items you want.

What’s missing

With one exception, Asthma 401 on CD is identical to our live Asthma 401 telecourse. The only thing missing from Asthma 401 on CD is the interaction – the questions and answers, and discussions – between instructors and participants which occurs during the live course.
